Tapfuma Nzara
Tapfuma Nzara is a Zimbabwean born music writer, rapper and poet, Born in Redcliff Zimbabwe, the son of Shepherd Nzara, A businessman, former Dj and club owner who made a mark in the Zimbabwean entertainment industry in the 80′s. Tapfuma’s mom was also a passionate musician who did work with the famous Andy Brown and Chiwaniso Maraire in Zimbabwe. She sadly passed away in 2005 May her soul rest in peace.
Tapfuma has been expected to erupt onto the scene for a while now by many who know him well, but he has had to focus on his studies and work in order to survive and fund his musical project. He has never stopped writing music for the past 10 years so the quantity of material he has is overwhelmingly abundant.
He wrote and recorded the rap song in Leon Schuster’s Mama Jack Movie, which was a box office hit movie. As a rapper/dancehall Artist, Tapfuma uses the stage name T.Mula, which is a long standing nickname. The name “Tapfuma” in Shona means “We Are Rich” hence the nickname, now turned stage name T.Mula. He has ghost written many tracks for current artists, and has won numerous talent shows from his high school days at Prince Edward in Zimbabwe to Monash University in South Africa. Tapfuma is thought to bring a Bob Marley kind of effect to rap with his deep metaphors and powerful lyrics
Asked why he hadn’t released any of his material into mainstream, he responds saying ‘fine wine matures with time’. Anticipation of his music is at an ever high, and he has also built a strong reputation for throwing some of the best parties around town! Anyone will tell you that Tapfuma’s parties are a must attend. Look out for this hot new talent about to cause a stir in the industry.
