The Rototom Sunsplash kicked off on a high note on Saturday,12th with some electrifying performances in Celebration of Africa. The Twinkle Brothers had the honor of opening the the Main Stage to be followed by Nkulee Dube who was accompanied by The New Generation Band. This was the rounding off for her World tour that she started in July in Canada. She received a massive forward from the crowd who she kept engaged and entertained with her Zulu dance moves. She is one who fulljoy herself on stage and such a joy to watch. Steel Pulse tooks us back to our Roots, back to where it all started and closing off the Main stage for the night.
On the same night on the Lion Stage the Spanish Alma Afrobeat Ansemble gave a rousing performance, followed by Lyricson from Guinea. The Ethnopia Reggae Music Ambassadors had a showcase.
The Dancehall Area was on fire with Sudan’s Dynamq Sound pon the controls and Rebellion the Recaller from Gambia in a mad combo.
