The Annual South African Traditional Music Achievement Awards [SATMA] celebrates its 14th anniversary this year under the theme: Free To Be Me. The SATMA Awards were launched in 2005 to promote, preserve, uplift, develop, honour and award traditional musicians across racial and ethnic background; who have set the path in the traditional music industry by preserving the authentic traditional sounds.

The 14th Annual SATMA Awards nominations officially opened on the 01 March, 2019, and closes on 28 June, 2019 at 15H00. To nominate your favourite Artist, Group, Radio Station, DJ or Programme SMS [SATMA, NAME of potential nominee and Category] to 49495.

The artists or group must have recorded their album in the period March 2018 to February 2019.

Ras Obrigado won the Best Reggae Album for 2018, Black Jahman won the Best Reggae Album for 2017 and other previous winners for this category include Hill House Crew, Nathi B and GangaLee, Ras Judah of The Next Generation.
