LNT Sound Returns to GOA Sunsplash 2020
LNT Sound is gearing up for their return to India’s biggest Reggae festival, GOA Sunsplash, after a successful debut in January 2019. The duo, which makes up LNT Sound, Joburg fast rising and consistent sound, had a call back to GOA Sunsplash 2020. They were in the first round of confirmed acts on the line up which includes Macka B, O.B.F & Charlie P, Naaman, Jah Sun & The Rising Tide, Bombay Bassment, Rudy Roots, Sara Lugo Ft Supa Mana and more. The 2019 line up included Anthony B, DubFX and Channel One Sound. The festival is set to take place on 10-12 January 2020.
It has been a long and steady trod for LNT to get to where they are now, and to be considered Joburg’s most consistent and dedicated sound. They have earned a reputation of being disciplined workaholics dedicated to the craft driven by passion, and their biggest asset being that of being able to work with everybody across the spectrum in Reggae, for the good of the cause. They land gigs in almost all the Reggae and Dancehall events in Gauteng, from the Kasi dances in the ghetto to uptown night clubs in the north, earning the moniker ‘Yo Girlfriend’s Favourite DJs’ along the way. They have now found a home Habesha Ethiopian Restaurant at Maboneng Precinct in Johannesburg where they host monthly Reggae and Dancehall day sessions – The Habesha Experience. This will be the place where they will also host the Goa Sunsplash Johannesburg Launch Party just before they jet off of India to hold a vibe. .
LNT is for Larry T & ThuliThulz, The Dancehall DJ Duo who have made names for themselves in the South African Reggae Dancehall Scene both as individuals and as a tag team. Larry T the MC and Thulithulz the versatile DJ and VJ with a deep passion for making the dance floor shake. They hosted a show called L N T Live at Radio Junto Reloaded, an online radio based in Johannesburg. They have also played in Maseru, Lesotho; Dancehall Against Gender Based Violence in Botswana and at the Gauteng Reggae Festival 2019 and do the Essential Mixes hosted by MzansiReggae. DJ ThuliThulz does live mixes at the Drive Time 365 hosted on the Lion Paw International Online Show.
They intend to spread the Mzansi Reggae vibes and fortunately they have a number of tunes at their disposal that they can play. “The playlist has not been finalised yet but we are working with Jeremiah Fyah Ises for a special Goa Sunsplash dubplate which we will definitely play.” – DJ ThuliThulz
On how the experience has shaped them since their first showing at the festival, Thuli Thulz says “From seeing how the festival was run I see no reason why we are not able to host an event of that calibre at that level of professionalism that includes international acts from all over. Do not be surprised if LNT hosts a festivals in the near future.” It was through their persistence that they landed their first international gig at Goa Sunsplash 2019, it will be with the same passion and persistence that they might just pull it off.
They are hosting the Goa Sunsplash Johannesburg Launch Party at the Habesha Experience on January, 4 with Guest Performance by Jeremiah Fyah Ises Live.
