Jimi Jah – Belly and Soul
On the 2nd of February of 2021, Jimi Jah released his new single “Belly & Soul”.
In these difficult times, the challenge is to seek material and spiritual food.
Besides all the worry and frustration of discovering our impotence, we are awakening to a new awareness. Not that this process was not happening before COVID-19, but it was certainly accelerated.
Everything happens for a reason. The more constructive our interpretation of reality is, the more we surf the wave of change and the less we drown in it.
This song is one of the ways Jimi had to express this hope that all of this, however painful, will result in something better, for all of us.
Jimi Jah is a Portuguese artist heavily influenced by the musical culture of Jamaica. Always seeking a coherent balance between sweet melodies and powerful messages, Jimi combines the Jamaican Fire and the Portuguese Melancholy in a unique way.
After releasing in 2020 his debut EP “Time Fi Di Music” with Sr. DuBong, this year, Jimi is presenting a new set of original songs, written and produced during the painful yet transformative lockdown.
