KibaKiba, a new Single from Chantty Natural
Tswanshall originator, Chantty Natural has done it again with a hot new single titled KibaKiba on Looking 4wd Riddim, coming out of South Africa. [Jammin Music Group / Phumzile Mad Koolia Ngqondela ].
The track puts into the spotlight the need to keep one’s head up despite the struggles that are evident with adult life and society. KibaKiba, a Setswana expression which loosely translates to an individual or people moving on forward, jumping through hurdles and chipping away at the apparent hardness of life and coming out victorious.
A sneak preview of Chantty’s forthcoming album shows the original Tswanshallist in a mean mood.
The riddim culture, which started in Jamaica, is now spreading to other parts of the world, in this case Southern Africa where now reggae artists can add their individual style and signature to one Riddim.. This trend was started as a way of breaking down down barriers to producing music by reggae artists. The baton of reggae ambassador has been gracefully handed over from one to another over the years, as laid out by Kopano Mantswe , band leader of Stepping Razor. The first reggae band to emerge out of Botswana was the Francistown based, Loshalaba. The baton was passed on to Crucial Band. Crucial then morphed into Stepping Razor Reggae Band. Cool Trees Band of Mahalapye have also been great reggae music ambassadors. There was yet more magic. Within the midst of Stepping Razor emerged Chantty Killah – now known as Chantty Natural, with the Tswanshall, has created a sub genre that has firmly taken root in the sun region.
