Cathy Matete X NVT3L – Get Lifted Remix
Cathy Matete released the single Get Lifted back in 2020. The sweet melodic voice of Cathy got so many hooked and more Reggae pundits from far and wide paying attention to the rising Kenyan Reggae Empress. The song reached, perchance via Instagram, Jamaican singer and songwriter Natel who is bringing a new style and presence to the Dancehall Reggae scene.
It was right before the Corona pandemic broke out, Natel was just scrolling through Instagram’s explore page when he was caught off guard by the amazing voice and sweet melodies of Get Lifted. He was somewhat under a spell and every time the chorus came around, he said he felt this amazing sensation that he hadn’t felt in a long while. Natel was in love with music all over again. A feeling which prompted him to reach out to Cathy Matete on Instagram and he got connected with her manager to see if he could interest them in a collaboration/remix.
They started talks with their respective management and they were all excited about the project but Natel was touring extensively before the Covid 19 restrictions and lockdown were enforced and did not manage to finalize the talks. He didn’t get to it until early 2021 in the middle of the pandemic when having no time was no longer an excuse.
Time passed and the world “opened up” again and in his first set of shows Natel was booked for Kenya, Cathy Matete’s home country and the number one country contributing to Natel’s Spotify monthly streams and listeners. This was a welcome sign that this project was definately meant to be. After his show they got a chance to meet and had a progressive conversation about many things including “Get Lifted” The Remix.

Get Lifted Remix will be out on all major digital streaming platforms from November 11th.
