Pius Okaba
Born 10th March, Pius Okaba Aka Codread is from Lagos, Nigeria, but in 2005 left Nigeria to pursue a modelling and music career in South Africa.
He had started to make music in early 1999 under the pseudonym Boldman as a young man and as part of a group known as Beat Block Boys.
Career
His debut hit single ‘Patricia’ featured Buffalo Souljah in 2010 and it got him nominated at the 2010 Nigerian Music Video Awards for the Music video.
He then followed up the hit debut single with a hot track collaborating with Nigerian dancehall superstar Terry G on ‘Go Crazy’. He is new single titled ‘KONKO’ featuring Maye Hunta the hit producer/singer of Ekaette Belle). This track has a nice afro beat feel reminiscence and a genre created by late legendary musician/activist, Fela Kuti. His also featured Africa’s hit maker ‘IcePrince Zamani’ on his track titled Sisi Nurse.
Codread known to his fans as ‘Hotter than fire’, has performed in Johannesburg, Namibia, Nigeria and many other African countries alongside Africa’s best Artist like – Jozi, MXO, HHP, Lira, Naeto C, Teargas, Sasha, Liquideep, Buffalo Souljah, Proverb, Jah Seed and Taygrin. His music is a fusion of Jamaican reggae/dance-hall and afro-pop.
