BACK in 2013 Marjory met Brian, Blackol Records Owner and producer and she was introduced to Archford Mapuqua, Blackol Records manger and Artist Manager and she signed with the Record label. That’s where she Transformed to Asian Black and her name Asian Black came from both BRIAN (Blackol) AND Magory. (Asian black).
Asian black completed her first hit song after completing her High school in 2011 which featured local Zimbabwean artist Jiggers D, Antidote and another song with Stunner, a well knewn Zimbabwean artists. Asian black had made a name for herself as a talented song writer and exceptional stage performer. She is now currently working on her new singes and also an album with one of the most talented and versatile Reggae (Dancehall) and hip-hop producer sir Blackol from Blackol Records; she is working with few local and international artists on her Album.
Asian black songs center on the themes of love, life and clash of western and African culture. Her music style includes Dancehall and RnB, some of her songs includes Me Lover, Woman (Jah Jah bless a woman) and Summer Time were her first singles that she recorded with Blackol Records and M.A.K Records both studios are based in cape town South Africa. She has been performing in most Cape Town shows and managed to catch people’s eyes with her performances.
Asian black has managed to lead a group of youths around cape town and they have been following her when she has shows around cape town, her music has been played with a lot of dancehall DJs both internet radio DJs and club DJs. Asian Black’s first single – Me Lover – really took people by a big surprise both in Cape Town and Zimbabwe. This song managed to open doors for Asian Black into the music industry from there Asian black did not stop working she has been recording one song after another and keeping the cape town vibes on. Asian Black had been influenced by the works of contemporary musicians such as Vibes Kartel, Richie Spice, Bob
Marley and Michel Jackson, M.J was Asian Blacks Greatest inspiration in my music.
