He not only boasts a position in the Top 5 Reggae artists in South Africa, his works have also earned him a SATMA award nomination in the Best Reggae Song Category in the year 2013 for his song “Ndinje”. Prior to his SATMA nomination he also won an award for best upcoming Reggae/Dance Hall singer in the Cape Town Reggae awards in the year 2012.
Blak Kalamawi has 2 EP’s under his belt having completed his first in 2010 called Zwelethemba and dropping his second in the year 2015 named Kude Kube. Kalamawi has performed some of his most famous tracks at Capleton live in Cape Town, and has also shared the stage with Jamaican artist Turbulence.
Although Kalamawi has released a few tracks outside of his current management , he is yet to release a single called “Nguwe” under new management Cutt Diamondz Music. Kalamawi is a talented musician that is passionate about love, unity and the people, setting the benchmark for most upcoming Reggae artists.
