Mavin Kanyawayi, the promising upcoming international reggae dancehall artist, is well known for his poetic song writing and his style of delivery when those lyrics are incorporated in a song. As evidently proved in some of his works, ‘Until’ ‘Rasta Style’ and ‘Rise Again’ are some of the songs Kanyawayi has grasped the attention of more new fans.
He was born in Lilongwe Malawi, Southern Africa, and the first born in a family of 5 children. He started recording music in 2008 but established himself fully on the music scene in 2015 when he released his first compilation ‘The Farmville mixtape’. His music journey was delayed by his university studies where he was studying General Agriculture at LUANAR. He released ‘Jah Sound EP, New Name mixtape and Reggae Reverberation EP’ between 2016 and 2018 and numerous singles. He only commercialized Reggae Reverberation EP after he completed he studies in 2018.

Mavin was born and grew up most of his life at an agriculture institution; a neighborhood where music was is not a priority as such exposure and support was really a challenge for him to fully establish himself in the music industry. Yet he consistently made songs with passion and power of anticipation, until he has gradually developed for big challenges. He has widely been noticed for his 2019 masterpiece ‘Until’ and the dub reggae tune ‘Rasta Style’ released October 2020, where he portrayed maturity in both lyrics and style of delivery.

Mavin Kanyawayi is an independent artist who has worked with different native artist and producers including the South African reggae artist C-Man and Germania producer Hendrik of Soulfyah production. He has connected with the Zimbabwean reggae artist Levi Maleki and several Jamaican artist including Indie Allen, Stranjah Miller and Jah Lex. Mavin is yet to release his debut album.
