Hailing from the Island of Trinidad and Tobago in the West Indies, messenger, reggae artist, song writer, TV and Radio host Carla Hobson AKA Yasha Mani, spent the early part of her years as a shy child. As childhood years past, and early adolescence began, love for the arts increased, lip syncing on Party Time 1990 was her first year she hit the stage. With the natural ability to entertain through dance, Yasha Mani spent time during secondary school years taking part in various lip sync / dance competitions and in 1998 relocated to the United States to explore a BSC in Marketing at Morgan State University where she met the legendary Bobo Shanti artist/messenger Ras Pidow. Her spare time was spent in Baltimore frequenting the band room of reggae artist Ras Pidow, listening to his unique chanting songs and LIVE reggae band music. She became connected with the power of positivity in the message through reggae music then went on to join San Kofa dance theatre where the spirit of dance was rekindled. Her inspiration came from artist such as Bob Marley, Rita Marley, Nina Simone, Lauren Hill, India Arie, Sade and internationally known reggae artist Dezarie of Midnite. Yasha Mani began singing a little later than most singers but felt the uniqueness and power in her voice and the urge to empower people through music. The artist has a passion for “LIVE” band music and is quite versatile on tracks as well.

With both singing and chanting skills, this artistes creates a natural, yet powerful energy which illuminates the stage, performance of a high level, as dance is part of her natural skill / DNA. Conscious and spiritual lyrics and dynamic stage performance makes the artistes a sight to behold and beams entertainment at its best. One of her early releases which was written in 2014 entitled “Soul Jah”, has instrumentals patterning the legendary roots rock reggae style from past eras, produced by Studio Life Entertainment of Tobago, and officially released in 2020. Yasha Mani then released her second single entitled “Stand Firm” which was written on an instrumental produced by internationally known producer Sly Beatz on “Melody Life Riddim” in which has other Top artists such as Lukie D. Yasha Mani will release three (3) more singles within the next month. Her newest Single to be released is a collaborative production with Multi Grammy Award Winning Producer Riff Raff “Llamar Browne” for the track entitled “Rebel for a Cause” which is scheduled to be released in October, 2021. She has also released “Vengenz” produced by Sinky Beatz and looks forward to releasing many more. Yasha Mani plans to work on her first album after the release of nine (9) singles in the month of January, 2022.

The artist launched her career officially as a messenger through music, via a Virtual concert held in T&T during the pandemic with LIVE band accompaniment. She is also dedicated to her “Homegrown” platforms via two projects – Reggae Dubsplash and the Caribbean Reggae Music Xchange Project. Yasha Mani’s continues to create avenues via On Stage Performing Opportunities, Music Rotation, Social Media exposure, artist consultation and Opportunities for rising artists in T&T, and Caribbean artists to work with the best. Prior to COVID 19 Nov 2019, artist Yasha Mani had embarked on a mission which included a visit to Jamaica to meet with the a team from the Ministry of Entertainment Jamaica regarding The Caribbean Xchange project, which was endorsed by the governing body for artist in all genres MUSICTT in Trinidad and Tobago, Yasha Mani is a reggae music ambassador, committed to the positive movement of Jah people through reggae music encouraging, World Peace, Love and Unity, not just in Trinidad and Tobago, but through the world over on her quest to fulfill Jah’s Divine purpose
