Black Dillinger Live in Munich

On the 5th of August 2015, Black Dillinger [real name Nkululeko Madolo] and his Manager Otis Malema boarded a direct flight from Johannesburg to Munich, Germany.  The mission was to deliver a grand performance at the Theatron Open Air Festival in Munich. Their objective has been to participate in big festivals outside the reggae festivals circuit in order to expand Black Dillinger’s audience and reach.  Armed with his talent, driven by passion, with the intent of showcasing South Africa’s burgeoning talent, the duo set about to accomplish their mission of flying Africa’s Flag high in world stages.

Black Dillinger to Perform at Sting Jamaica 2015

The mission was accomplished as evidenced by the upcoming album – Black Dillinger Live in Munch, which is set to hit the digital shelves on 24 May 2016. The skillfully mastered recordings captures the live performance in a way that transport you to the event itself. Often times, when our artists perform  abroad, we never get to hear or see their performances, save for a few social media snippets and photos. This compilation here, gives a clear sound picture of what transpired, and it will be followed by mini DVD to provide the visual impact.

Black Dillinger delivered a world class performance which is characterized by his love for his continent, Africa, and country South Africa. It is reported that the show had to be stopped twice due to the excitement of fans that broke through stage barriers just to be able to get close to the African reggae star. Not even the event organiser could cool down the energy felt by the fans as they responded to Black Dillinger’s fire lyrics.

The album includes a feature by Germany’s own Uwe Banton, a long time brother, friend and collaborator of Dillinger who joins him on stage for the track, Hail the Man to warm applause from the crowd. Some notable songs included in the album are the Channel O nominated Volcano Erupt, Better Tomorrow, From a Place, America and yet to be released Everyone.

One on One with Black Dillinger

The 13 track album recorded live at Theatron Open Air Festival in Munich at the world famous Olympia Park, is packed with political and social relevant lyrics wrapped in funky grooves, soulful vocals and driven by reggae charged rhythms. It gives a clear indication of what Black Dillinger is capable of and shows his understanding of his audience and how to entertain them. An impressive feat, considering that he only had one night to rehearse with the German band before the set and the results can be heard on this Album.

Black Dillinger is currently working on his next studio album and just recorded the first official single #LetterToThuliMadonsela. The song is addressed to South Africa’s outgoing Public Protector, Advocate Thuli Madonsela, and deals with one of the issues facing Africa, LAND.

Black Dillinger Live in Munich will be available on all digital music platforms from Itunes to Tidal on May 24, 2016.
