The count down has officially begun and the Rasta Nation is bubbling with excitement awaiting the arrival of Chronixx and his ZincFence Redemption band who will be performing for the first time ever in South Africa on the 25th and 26th June 16 in Johannesburg and Cape Town. The historical event will take place at Walter Sisulu Square in Soweto and at Grace Performing Arts Centre in Parow, Cape Town.
Chronixx, real name Jamar Rolando McNaughton, has been in the forefront along with other new generation of roots reggae artists from Jamaica in revitalising roots music and culture especially among the youth. The South African audience can’t wait to be thrilled by hits such as They don’t know, Who Knows, Ain’t no giving in and Smile Jamaica from the Honey Pot Riddim, which incidentally, was first voiced by our very own South African songstress Nkulee Dube with a ting called Love the way.
The build up and excitement to the South African shows has been heightened by live video snippets shown on Social media, sharing the live excitement as experienced by fans from other African countries of which Chronixx has already performed.
The Africa Soul Circle Tour is scheduled for 4 Countries in Africa, and it kicked off in Uganda, Kampala on the 17th of June, followed by Kenya, Nairobi on the 18th and Ethiopia, Addis Ababa rounding off the East Africa region on the 19th before heading down to South Africa.
We compile here the visuals that form part of the journey from the east heading down south to come full circle.
