At the ripe age of 17, Noluthando Rotwane also known as DJ Teedo Love, bravely burst into the male dominated Reggae scene of Johannesburg. It was a short stint, handling the decks that would spark her love for Dj’ing. This ignited her passion so much that she mastered the art and went on to be one of the best. The young female DJ became resident two of the most famous reggae spots in South African Reggae and dancehall music industry, Tandoor and Bassline (under the tat utelage of Admiral and Jah Seed).
DJ Teedo Love’s tenacious nature led to her garnering several prestigious titles at The SA Dancehall DJ Clash for the year 2007, 2010 and 2011 respectively, a stride that was nothing short of admirable. As if this was not enough, she went on to be one of the 1st Dancehall DJ to play at Oppikoppi in October 2017, making her set part of history in its 23yrs of existence. She has also played at the Soul Candi Spring Fiesta in 2011, 2014 and 2015. She has had the privilege to also play at the Arts Alive Joburg City NYE count down on the 31 of December 2015 and 2016, as well as the Arts Alive Culture Clash 2016 & 2017. DJ Teedo Love went on to scoop the title of 2013, 2014 and 2015 Best Reggae & Dancehall Female DJ at the Dancehall Reggae Mzansi Awards. She also had the pleasure of playing the opening and closing sets for Damian Jnr Gong Marley on his South African Tour in April 2017.
DJ Teedo Love has played all over South Africa in places like the Northern Cape, Limpopo, Cape Town and Bloemfontein just to name a few. She has also mastered the art of incorporating her talent as a dancer with her dj’ing skills, and through that coining the hash tag #thedjthatdances as part of her overall act.
