Reggae artiste Don Franco Tafari, who has been comfortably active in the scene for a reasonable amount of time, is once again rising to prominence with his fourth studio offering, a project called The TAO. It is a beautifully crafted and well curated 6 track EP, with sweet harmonies and tuff Riddims; intended to help him overcome the most trying times in his personal trajectory. He came out stronger through the help of the Tao philosophy which taught him to be in perfect alignment with Nature and be able to make sound decisions when reaching the cross roads. Consequently, The TAO naturally became a fitting title for the project. His best offering to date and it came in the midst of his trials – sadness, dark period, World problems and losing his Mom – and tribulations (finding strength through all this). The track Ndinochema (Mama) is a heart wrenching song reflective of the passion put into entire project, it was the last track recorded on the project where he poured out his heart:

“This is too personal to me, I am mourning on this track, it was a conversation between me and God asking questions about why he had to take my mother and telling him how removing the person who meant life to me made me feel, its filled with anger pain and sorrow. No pen could have written these lyrics, I sang this track straight from heart no pen no paper just pain anger and sorrow”

He enlisted the help of C Bryan on the track Heal The World, Tuna Beats on Ezekiel’s Wheels and Soulfyah productions on Lighthouse to spruce up The TAO with different delivery styles from hip hop to Roots and harmonies that the Don embraces. All other tracks were produced by his long time producer and partner, Rebel Shumba who has worked with Don Franco over the years and is able to bring the best out him as he understands him well like brothers. This is a coming of age project, Don Franco Tafari has found his voice, he fully embraces his influences and inspirations and incorporates them into his delivery with carefully crafted lyrics that speaks of real life experiences.

The TAO, produced by Rebel Shumba got its official release on 08 October, 2021 under the Legion 16 Records label and is available across all digital platforms.
