Reminiscence: A tribute to the Joseph kings is a live show by the upcoming performing artist Elijah The Prophet honoring the two Reggae legends Bob Marley and Dennis Brown born in the Month of February, International Reggae Month and Black History Month. Elijah The Prophet was also born in the same month. This is a musical experience where friends and family from near and far will gather in celebration of life and honoring the ones who came before us and paved the way.

Reminiscence: A tribute to the Joseph kings is a two hour show by Elijah The Prophet backed by The Messengers Band paying tribute to the world most loved international Reggae icon Bob Marley and Elijah’s favourite singer, Dennis Emmanuel Brown “The crown prince Reggae’.  They will perform their classic and rare hits. The repertoire consists of 16 songs divided into 8 songs per side mixed and played in this format: (Bob / Dennis / Bob / Dennis). All songs will be sung by 18 year old Elijah The Prophet & The Messengers, a group of various session musicians.

The Show will kick off at 19:00 and will be followed by a Lovers Rock Groove Night after party, catering for the lovers as Valentines Days also falls in February.

The after party will start at 21:00 immediately after the live performance and will include a playlist of songs from various roots reggae musicians including but not limited to Dennis and Bob. Anticipate classics from the likes of Gregory Issacs, John Holt, Freddie McGregor, Sugar Minott, Cornel Campbell, The Heptones, Mighty Diamonds, Inner Circle, Third world, steel pulse, burning spear, Lucky Dube, Colbert Mukwevho and many more artists you might not know or ever heard of from back in the day.

About Elijah The Prophet
This will be the first live performance by the upcoming Roots Reggae artist Elijah The Prophet. Born Elijah Matlombe on February 12, 2002. He is the firstborn child of the Matlombe Family who run a premium events venue in Newtown, the cultural hub of Johannesburg. A Rastafari Family who adheres to the House  Twelve Tribes of Israel, one of the mansions in the Rastafari Community. Elijah is from the House of Joseph and hence he named the show: Tribute to the Joseph Kings, honoring and representing his Rastafari roots and upbringing, with no shame nor apology.

He attended Naturena Primary school in Johannesburg and has always showed an inkling towards music from an early age and was particularly drawn to drums. has performed as a sessionist for various productions at school and outside of school. He studied at the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg where he learnt how to read music and he plays the guitar and drums and does vocals. He has been involved in various theatrical productions and was part of the Grammy award winning musical production The Oz, as a guitarist. He is currently enrolled at the Academy of Sound Engineering where he is studying music production, live sound, broadcasting, audio and post production. He is bringing forth his theatre and music background to the fore with this special show dedicated to the Legends that has inspired him.
