Emerging Reggae Artist TRINITY to showcase at KZN Music Imbizo 2017

From his humble beginnings in the township of the industrial suburb of Hammersdale, to being catapulted into the entertainment industry through tenacity and hard work, TRINITY has kept his focus on developing his musical talents which has now secured him a slot in one of Durban’s premier music business conference and exhibition, the KZN Music Imbizo.

Sabelo Clarence Langa earned his stage name TRINITY from the Rastafari Elders in his community where he got his inspiration and soaked in the roots conscious reggae music that was the staple of his immediate surroundings. A chance meeting with a producer of Blaqout Music Group in Durban propelled him to pursue his musical career, with a strong emphasis and focus on the unique home grown Reggae of the new generation of the ‘Born Frees’. They are reshaping the sounds of Reggae music passed on to them by their forerunners like the Legendary Lucky Dube, Carlos Djedje and OYABA. They infuse it with the latest sounds of Hip hop, Afro beat and Dancehall

“My father was a fanatic Reggae listener, which is all that I grew up on; it was almost like a staple diet, which helped me a lot when it came to song writing, because the melody was already soaked in. The teachings of the elders strengthened my lyrical capabilities through the knowledge that I absorbed.” Trinity

He is now ready to share his love of music with the greater public, beyond the shores of his hometown and the fan base that he has quickly garnered in the short time that he has been on the scene. His Single, The Truth released in 2016 caught the attention of his peers and endeared him to a loyal fan base. He will be performing songs from his upcoming Mixtape – Pen and Paper – which is a blend of roots reggae with a touch of hip hop and dancehall.

The Roots Reggae Night event is part of the programming of the KZN Music Imbizo 2017, which will highlight and showcase local emerging talent and spotlight on Reggae Music. It is organized in partnership with Mzansi Reggae, an online magazine for the reggae community. TRINITY will be performing alongside Luwe The Lion and Rainbow and they will be backed by Durban’s foundation band Rastas at Work. The DJ duo, Hott Waxx Family who hosts Reggae Sessions every Saturday at Cool Runnings will also be on board to give out more reggae music to the people.

“This is an important step in my career, I am grateful to the KZN Music Imbizo for organizing this event. I am excited and overjoyed and promise to give out my 100% best. It’s going to be a rocking night, come and experience the good good reggae vibes, woza nabangani bakho [come with your friends!]” Trinity
