Reggae Songstress Empress Pro, one of the very few female artists to have made a breakthrough in the Reggae Circles releases her long anticipated single – Grudge. After independently releasing her debut album Journey & My Vision back in 2014, she was unsuspectingly catapulted into the Reggae Dancehall spotlight as one of the promising acts to come out. She kept her focus on developing her musical talent and vocal training. The studio became her second home where she and her long time associate and producer, worked on material for her second studio album slated for release in the summer 2017/2018.
Grudge, the lead single is a coming out affair for Empress Pro, emerging as one suited to contest the Queen of Reggae title.
“The journey continues for me. 2016 has been a year of reflection and musical growth,” explains Empress Pro, referring to her hiatus from recording. “My focus has been on developing self and on my immediate surroundings. I realized then, that many of us hold grudges and that create stumbling blocks in our paths. We should rather focus on Self love.”

Produced by Themba Dlamini of Firetown Music, Grudge has a good dose of healthy lyrics, delivered in the soothing raspy voice of the empress. It is her natural inclination to care about the well being of others that gets her to sing: “Love yourself enough to let go, Never hold no grudge Stand your ground and put yourself first for a change.”
The single is currently streaming on soundcloud and will shortly be available on all major online distribution outlets, and can be streamed from her newly launched Website. It will be followed by a promo tour starting in August in Durban.
