KZN Music Imbizo 2017 Showcase
The KZN Music Imbizo is an annual international music business conference and exihibition hosted in Durban. It starts on Thursday 31 August until Saturday 02 September, at the Moses Mabhida Stadium suites in Durban.
It was founded in 2009 by Siphephelo Mbhele and Sibusiso Tsewu and has since grown to be a very important platform for the music industry in the continent, having hosted legendary figures like Prof. Joseph Shabalala (Ladysmith Black Mambazo – South Africa), Jess White (Azgo Festival – Mozambique), Nothando Migogo (CEO – CAPASSO), Karabo Motijoane (General Manager – Sheer Publishing) , Sibongile Khumalo (Musician – South Africa) and many others.
The 2017 edition themed: The Digital Future, will have a 360 degree look at the music business. The conference is expected to pull over 50 speakers, representing over 20 countries to give you an experienced look at music business.
Showcase Call Out
The showcase is an opportunity for artists to have their music played to programmers from different parts of the world during the conference. Artists are invited to submit two songs, a profile and a photo to submissions@kzn-musicimbizo.co.za. Selected artists will attend the conference, meet the music festival programmers on a one on one basis; invite them to your showcase; Kill it on Stage and get feedback. The Closing date for submissions is Monday, July 17 at 23H59.
Delegate tickets are available at R300.00 for three days of networking, workshops, gear expo, music producer forum and exhibition. The beautiful Durban nights come to life with showcases throughout the week of the KZN Music Imbizo 2017 – from Jazz, Reggae, Hiphop, Afro Soul to Maskandi, Rock, House and Schathamiya.
