Music on the Hill Awards Media Launch Honoring Zamjobe and Mandisa Dlanga
The South African music scene is about to witness the birth of a prestigious and transparent awarding body called the Music On The Hill Awards (MOTHAS). Led by respected music promoter Innocent Shezi, the MOTHAS aim to bridge the gap by recognizing and honouring all the important role players within the music industry.
With over 50 categories, the inaugural MOTHAS will be a grand celebration, giving recognition and paying tribute to the incredible achievements in the South African music industry. From performers to technical and support professionals, the MOTHAS proudly acknowledge the outstanding contributions of these individuals.
At the media launch this past Saturday, the MOTHAS celebrated two respected icons in the music industry by awarding them with the prestigious Career Achievement Award. Mandisa Dlanga, a true pioneer and veteran performer, was recognized for her invaluable contributions that have made a lasting impact in the industry. Additionally, Zamajobe, the genius behind the hit song “Ndawo Yami,” was also honoured, solidifying MOTHAS’ reputation as a platform that appreciates exceptional talent.
The MOTHAS take great pride in its careful and diverse selection process with a panel of 90 judges, 10 representatives hailing from each province. This judicious approach guarantees a comprehensive and inclusive deliberation to identify nominees and winners who have made remarkable contributions to the South African music industry.
Submissions for the first MOTHAS Awards will close on October 9, 2023, with no extensions. The announcement of nominees in all categories will be made on October 27th, building up anticipation for the awards ceremony in December 2023.
As a token of their achievements, each nominee will receive a nomination certificate. The winners in each category will be presented with a medal, an official certificate, and an assortment of coveted prizes presented by esteemed sponsors and partners.
