Nigeria’s Pop Princess, Seyi Shay & South Africa’s Dancehall King, NC Dread have teamed up on a massive tune called CELEBRATE. This is set to be yet another hit for both artists – a definite anthem both on radio and in the club. Seyi Shay mixes her infectious vocals with a deejay style that only she can muster whilst NC Dread, renowned for lyrics & flow, oozes with class all over the piece.
Seyi Shay, signed by Island Records, has worked with dancehall titans including Beenie Man, Sean Paul & Don Corleon. Her early career days were under the management of Matthew Knowles, father of Beyonce with whom she toured the UK in 2008.
NC Dread, the face of South African dancehall has won multiple awards including Artist of the Year in his in his home country. He was recently nominated Best International Act at the prestigious Bass Awards in Ghana. His catalog of hits features, amongst others, “Always” produced by Jamaican superstar Rvssian, “Dem Cah Stop Me” produced by Frass Twinz and “Godfidence” featuring East Africa’s leading artist, Wyre, on the much chronicled Pharaoh Riddim – SA’s number one riddim for 2016.
2017 promises to be a big year for the the singjay whose manager, Xuga, has confirmed NC Dread, currently in Nigeria on a media and promotional tour, has recorded a banger with SHATTA WALE, the King of African Dancehall. The tune which is yet another Bashment Sound production is set to drop soon. He also confirmed works with the likes of AK Songstress, General Pype, Mavluz, Peter Miles, Ketchup who are all heavyweights acts from Ghana, Uganda & Nigeria. Watch this space for more details
