South Africa’s king of Dancehall NC Dread has teamed up with Ghanaian Award winning king of Dancehall Shatta Wale to unleash a new single We Gi Dem, produced by DJ Wallas. This follows the news of Shatta Wale signing with Bashment Music SA to represent him in Southern Africa. This collaboration with NC Dread who is also under Bashment Music SA label, is a way in which the Shatta Movement boss steps into the South African Reggae and Dancehall scene. NC and Shatta have previously collaborated in a Bashment Music SA production with other power house artists from 7 African countries on a single titled Baddest. Their chemistry is a perfect representation of the best from the west with the best from the south, and can be heard on the massive single released.

Shatta Wale (real name Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr) reigned supreme at this year’s Ghana Music Awards where he bagged the most awards including Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year for the hit ‘My Level’; Reggae/Dancehall Act of the Year, Digital Act of the Year, Video of the Year for the smash hit and viral video ‘Gringo’. His legion fan base also picked up Fan Army of the Year award and the overall Song of the Year for ‘My level’ When the ‘Gringo’ hit maker released his third studio album, Reign, through Zylofon Music and Shatta Movement Empire in October last year, it debuted at number 6 on the Billboard Top World Albums Charts.

NC Dread (real name Edward Makume), one of the select few successful Dancehall artists in South Africa, his accolades – Dancehall Awards, nominations and collaborations with Africa’s finest – are testament to his  commitment to a broader vision of African Unity through music. He has amassed a growing fan base throughout the continent. He has won several awards including Reggae Album of the Year, three-time SA Dancehall Song of the Year, and SA Reggae Dancehall Artist of the Year.
