Best Reggae Album - Botanist

In brief, tell us about your journey to the Awards.
Journey of the awards has been very tiring and busy but it’s a great feeling.

Who was important to the process, what they did to prepare.
My team Maximum Stylez Records and Publishing is a very hard working team and they did everything to see that my album gets to The SAMAs

Do you think that the award nomination would change the perception about Reggae, considering there have been Reggae winners in the past?
The nomination will surely change the perception because it shows that there’s a huge demand of reggae in SA and the whole of Africa and across the world it’s time for a new legacy.

How can we make sure that the category stays ‘relevant?’
We should always drop clean and good songs in terms of quality we must book reggae artist we must put it on mainstream level always it will stay relevant.

Why should artists participate in the SAMAs? How can it benefit their careers?
They should participate because the SAMAs is a big recognition in Mzansi for upcoming and relevant artists of this time it can also benefit their career a lot because its nationwide promotion .People will start to book them feature them and all.

Do you agree with the current state of voting or would rather have the public vote for their favourite artist?
I don’t agree it’s totally unacceptable we need our people to vote so that SA can see how hungry people are for reggae music

Why should you win the award?
My team worked hard for years I’ve worked hard for years and we make sure its strictly mzansi black owned quality product…because we serve pure healing in terms of the music that we do.

What is your favourite track from the Album nominated?
Who ah Dem

Where to from Here?
Greater platforms all over the globe and good music and visuals to support it.
