Reggae Artist Senzo Mthethwa To Perform in Zambia 2022
Reggae Artist Elder Senzo Mthethwa to perform at the Annual Bob Marley Memorial Concert in Kitwe, Zambia at the invitation of The Twelve Tribes of Israel, House of Rastafari KITWE. The concert will take place on 07 May, 2022 at Diggers Rugby Club in the mining town of Kwite, the second largest city in Zambia.
Senzo Mtethwa, is no stranger to Zambia and his fans there have never stopped enquiring about him, even during the time of his long absence. It is then some great news that he will be back in Zambia to perform his classic tunes that made him so popular in the country. It was in the mid-nineties when his music was first heard in Zambia and earned him a special place in the hearts of Zambians and massive appreciation from fans of Reggae, not only in Zambia but across Africa, because of it’s uniqueness, character, originality and consciousness.
The Album and leading track Irene was the impetus to landing a permanent spot in Zambian Reggae Lovers and got the attention of people beyond Reggae circles. The other popular tunes often cited are Rasta Wake Up, Holy Mountain, Xolele.
” I look forward to performing to my audience in Zambia and also to prove false lies by some biased media that I had died,” Senzo said recently when he visited Kitwe.
He will be perfoming along side local Reggae artists, Judge Tafeli, The Roaring Lions, Ashanti Warriors, Ras Amen, Mega Lion and Black Fari.
Ras Anada and the Negus Tafari, Reggae Sound Incorporated(RSI), Bongo Fari, Ras Kinky and many more. The Zambezi music pioneers, Nasty D, Twice and Mbototo are expected to show up but not yet confirmed. The show’s MC Dr. Natty Dub The Fire Man will joined by one of Zambia’s top Reggae selector DJ and Presenter, DJ Johroller.
Senzo is expected to arrive in KITWE on the May 04. Tickets costs 100 Zion Dollars at the Gate.
