“You Give Me Love” is conceived as a passionate dialogue between two lovers. The lyrics playfully address the relationship problems of a couple and show the expectations both parties have of their partner. While the female voice describes patterns that denounce the asymmetry of the relationship and complains about the fact that the other person cannot stand by them in public, the male voice sings about love and its promises.
Musically, Samora’s and Natty King’s skillful vocal parts are artfully interwoven into a powerful, intense overall work that is embedded in a soft but heavy carpet of pulsating Reggae elements. R’n’B vocals and Lover’s Rock meet Reggae with a modern interpretation and many live elements, composed and produced by Ludovic Hoarau and Res Staudenmann.
