Admiral and JahSeed Billed as Support Acts for Soul II Soul Intimate Evening Concert

Soul II Soul Admiral and Jahseed

JahSeed and Admiral are scheduled to perform as support acts at the Soul II Soul Intimate Evening Show.

An Intimate Evening with Soul II Soul is part of the yearly concert series organised by Liberty in partnership with Griza Enterprises and Showtime Management. Two performances are scheduled in Johannesburg at Montecasino Outdoor Events Area on February 1 and in Cape Town at Kirstenbosch Gardens on February 8, 2025.

The dynamic Reggae and Dancehall duo Jahseed and Admiral pioneered the South African Reggae Dancehall movement as DJ and MC for the African Storm Sound System. They hosted the famous Thursdays Ragga Nights Sessions, one of the oldest and longest running Dancehall event with Admiral pon di controls and JahSeed pon di Mic with the full crew that included the African Storm Dancehall Queens. They were support act for Chronixx, Jr. Gong and recently Jahseed was on the line up for Burning Spear One People Africa Tour. They were the choice African DJ’s for VP Records for the collaboration project: Reggae Loves Africa Mix and represented the Dancehall genre at the Red Bull Culture Clash.

In 2021 they hosted the final edition of the RaggAttak Radio Show which aired on YFM, Gautengs Biggest Youth Radio Station which went live every week for 22 years. It was 22 years of strictly Reggae and Dancehall on our speakers; bussing local and outer national tunes, interviews with local and international artists. and being the source of information on what is hip and happening in the world of Reggae.

Although they have not been performing together as African Storm Sound System for a while now; they occasionally make appearances at exclusive events such as The Reggae Jazz Funk Soul sessions: Sound System Edition at Zoo Lake where they showcased their vinyl collection. Admiral now dedicates much of his time to being a film producer while JahSeed is commendably still in the scene, lending his time, mentorship and expertise to the movement and the next generation of DJ’s and artist, while also being back with Bongo Muffin, another major South African Kwaito Outfit.

It is quite fitting that they will be joining another legendary South African musical group, TKZee to support the ground breaking Award winning Group Soul II Soul led by Jazzy B. This promises to be quite an unforgettable event filled with nostalgia, musicianship and plenty good vibes.

Soul II Soul Intimate Evening

Soul II Soul  is a British collective best known for their two major hits; “Keep On Movin'”, and “Back to Life (However do you want me)”. They have won two Grammy Awards, and have been nominated for five Brit Awards Their fusion of R&B, Funk, Soul and Reggae resonated well with music lovers across the globe and it hit the right nerve here at home, One may argue that Soul II Soul had, to some extend, an effect on the popularity and success of the Dancehall and Kwaito genre fusion. Jazzy B’s signature look, style and pattern could be seen interpreted in many Kwaito fusion groups, notably Bongo Muffin with Jahseed as the Dancehall chanter; Boom Shaka with Junior as the Toaster of the group, and to a lesser extend Aba Shante with Aba adding Raga to the Sound.
