Tanto Metro and Devonte were the headline acts for the Back 2 The 90’s Dancehall Show, which is slated to be an annual event, at Newtown Music Factory in Johannesburg on 28 April 2018. The show is organised by JR Productions who have since announced that the show will go on without the Jamaican acts and will continue with the acts billed on the line up which includes Buffalo Soldier, Jah Seed and Admiral of African Storm Sound System, Momo Dread, Bolo J and Guest Artist Spender.
The official word from the Promoter is that the cancellation is due to ‘uncontrolled and unforeseeable circumstances’, and they apologise to the fans for the absence of Jamaican artists. They intend to make next year’s Back 2 The 90’s Dancehall a success. The event will go ahead as planned with the Entrance Fee reduced to R100.
The celebrated duo from Jamaica announced last night via their Instagram page that they: “Will no longer be attending this event due to issues beyond our control. We look forward to seeing you next time around with a more effective movement.”
Meanwhile, JR Promotions has deleted all of the promotional clips of the Back 2 The 90’s Dancehall from their Instagram feed.
